Atlanta podiatry patients at DeKalb Medical have access to some of the top podiatric talent in the country through our podiatric surgery residency program. Founded in July 1969, it was the first three-year podiatry training program in the United States specializing in foot care, and foot, ankle and leg surgery.
DeKalb Medical chooses four physicians each year to serve their residency in our premiere program. These physicians are often in the top 10 percent of their medical school class across the country. DeKalb Medical also offers one-month externships for 30 to 40 physicians each year. The externships give more physicians a chance to learn from internationally recognized physicians who are involved with the program.

DeKalb Medical’s podiatry residency program is a world-class teaching program and has excellent staff trained in foot care and ankle care.
